The Summer Projects (album) (2013-08), It’s Another… Wonder Under, Over You (EP) (2013-09)

This release consists of various recordings from early July through early September 2013.
I had been working with The Voorholes (Pronounced 'Voor-'ōls) in June with a result of two albums and one decent EP.
Of the time in between, there was an occasional recording that didn't fit in anywhere; it proved very useful to have a reciprocal project underway.

What a brilliantly shitty Summer, it could be a film in the French Republic.

In a rather roundabout manor, I stated that I liked a first cousin (born one month apart from me).

Essentially, what did happen is that I asked for my cousins e-mail address by contacting her children on Facebook; I had no other contact data.

Eventually, I had a conversation on the telephone with her father, my uncle.

The problem was that there was no capacity in the discussion to accommodate my objective to contact her.
I wanted a mailing address, I didn't receive as much as that.
I don't trust him in an any affair because his preconceived notion is the basis of extinguishment.

I have known my uncle as something of an evangelist that regularly worked with children's ministries throughout the northeastern United States.

About twenty years ago, I drove my Grandparents out to his house for Sunday dinner.

There were too many people seated at the dinner table so, I was told to eat in the basement; I had to come up stairs for additional items on my plate.

I guess that's why I really don't believe much of anything my uncle says; he animates the truth as a cheap corrosive 'guiding light'.

I wanted to contact my cousin in person a and basically say 'hi'.

So, hello to the family!

So, as of early July, I'm really unhappy about non-communication in the family.

If I knew how to stick my foot out more, I would; because I want to communicate not, have someone do it for me.

I had this long instrumental piece that needed to be inserted somewhere, I used it in the last track.
Mostly, this summer was desolate as it revealed an element of the family that is so goddamn irresponsible that it cannot permit communication.
Yet another minister type character that has a rotting core of truth; I am so fucking pissed off at this holy mans standards.
I eat in his basement while he proclaims the unchallenged word of the lord.
In the past, I would attempt to avoid anything like this but, lately, there's not too much to step aside onto.

For the record:
The album is OK.
I really like my cousin.

This is my fourth time at attempting to straighten up the writing in this blog.
I have had too much caffeine.

MPK (band) Summer Recording Projects in 2013

After the release of XII in May of 2013, 

there has been very little activity under the name MPK (band).

'Road to Vermont' 

XII was released in 2013-05.

Most of my recording activities have been centered around The Voorholes (Pronounced 'Vo͝or-'ōls).

A few small projects are planed during the summer of 2013 under the name MPK (band); mostly single recordings.

  
‘Misunderstood Without a Reply’

I used a 4 string bass with a capo clamped on the strings.
It was played it as a three string bass, 
the lowest string was played singularly and, 
the other strings were played as double strings. 
The bass is rich but, 
it resonates in such a way that it sounds over saturated.
This is more or less a grunge style. 
I will be working on the playing technique and signal processing style 
to accommodate this type of bass on future recordings.

The Voorholes (Pronounced 'Vo͝or-'ōls)

 This evening, I decided to clarify the pronunciation of The Voorholes.
It is pronounced 'Vo͝or-'ōls. The 'h' of 'Voorh' is silent.
Perhaps it is somewhat reminiscent of a 1950's Doo-wop group or a 1960's British popular music group such as The Tremeloes. 

A recording project is slowly under way.
As I sit here and compose a few tracks, there is a sizable amount of copying and pasting of musical passages.
It is not a bad idea to sound out whatever one can from musical instruments and signal processing, it just takes a while.
At times, it is much easier to release material without hesitation if there is a known comparable style in the past, a strong knowledge in post World War II popular music can be advantageous.

Another option would be to only change the speed of one or several tracks; I was tired.

It all is simply a matter of experimentation.

The Kaaterskill Falls are one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the eastern United States.

In this video, the vehicle in front of me pulls over at the narrow side of the NY State Route 23A hairpin, it is in front of the lower falls. At the same time, I too stop my car to let my mother out to see the falls without walking from the overlook that is uphill from there. Although my mom didn't climb to the 260 foot upper falls, she did enjoy the water.

I wanted a semi reflective composition that would be fun to watch.

This is the first time I actually walked behind the veil of the upper Kaaterskill Fall.

The best advice for exploring in here is to climb up to steep grade to the sheer wall, the water as it falls throughout time erodes a very accessible path that enables a level panoramic walk-around.

Climb in a diagonal direction away from the falls on the east side, it appears to be the path of least resistance.

NY State Route 23A is one of the most scenic routes in New York State.
Lexington, New York is situated on Schoharie Creek and is one of my favorite Catskill locations.

This is the newest song on the album.
I started recording at 23:00 Monday and,
I recorded this 3rd song of the set at about 09:00 Tuesday. 

This is the first album that I have recorded by a name other than MPK (band).
Similar to all of the previous albums, I used headphones when mixing the audio.
Mostly, I have had the opportunity to play a musical instrument
and record it to a computer at any time; night or day.

Recently, the whole concept seemed  more detached than ever as I was unable to sit here and compose much music compared to months before.
I decided to record under a different name and use that pretense to throw anything into, regardless.
 Overall, I think it is a step up.
